A question answered and a look at the schedule

I want to thank you for responding to these blogs. Wheeler Bros. asked what bait I was using when I was fishing the deep water at Smith Mountain Lake.

It was a Berkeley 6-inch hand-pour finesse worm, a red crawler. It worked good. I would recommend it.

I spent a little time making this audio that talks about the lakes we’ll be fishing on the Elite Series tour in 2008. Mainly I just ramble about what I know about the kind of fishing they offer.

I will say that they’ve chosen some great places to fish. It’s going to be a good season, I think.

Hey Boyd,
Thanks for the response! I have one more question, I just started using the drop shot technique and I was wondering what the best retrieve is? Some say you can drag it, or hop it. I’m trying to figure out the best way to fish a drop shot being new and no confidence what so ever in this technique.

Fish on!

Boyd,
I just found your website and I wanted to thank you for all of the help that you gave me and an enjoyable day of fishing at the Mark’s tournament. I wanted to just drop a line and say thanks and congrats on the top twelve finish at Smith Mountain Lake.

The drop shot is not a technique designed to cover water. What I do is throw a drop shot in and around specific areas where I think the bass will be. Then I shake it predominantly in one place. I’ll pull it along until I find cover, then I’ll shake it in that cover. That’s the design of a drop shot rig.

Boyd,

Have you ever fished on a cranberry marsh nestled in 70,000+ acres of state forest? A private place where you catch more bass than you ever imagined. Private lakes where its only been catch and release. We will be granting wishes to over 130 disabled and critically ill children on July 20-22, 2007; if you can make it please email me.

Boyd,

I fished with you at Walt Disney World weeks before you went to the Classic. That day, we took a group of people out for a corporate fishing event and I had a great time fishing with you.

On the night of the Classic I was at home cheering you on watching you win the Classic. You have been doing great this year on the Bass Trail and I am still cheering you on from home in front of the TV. Keep going, this is your year!

Hey Boyd I was wondering if you were in Orlando, fl the weekend of august 2nd thru saturday? If so I think we met last night and if so maybe you could send me an email. We talked about a possible charity event for my brother, he was killed last month in a boating accident. Thanks!
